The Vanderpump Rules star sat down with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge to talk about all the secrets in his life for the Two Ts in a Pod podcast. The last season showed her focused on her relationship with G Flip, and at the reunion, she said she's open to having kids one day. But it doesn't seem like the real estate agent is rushing to have a baby. The couple got married in Las Vegas and Emma Hernan acted as their officiant. Chrishell got her start acting by playing Amanda Dillon on All My Children. She left the role in 2011 and later was on Youthful Daze and The Young and the Restless. Her acting career is nowhere near done just because she's on reality TV. She has a new role, and she wore a fake pregnant belly for it.

<![CDATA[Season 1 of ‘The Hills' Was Too Similar To 'The Devil Wears Prada']]> Fans of The Hills will remember Lauren Conrad's time on season 1 as her fashion internship era. Much like Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada (Anne Hathaway), Lauren had to choose whether to go to Paris for a position abroad or give it up to her co-worker. It may already be common news that, for the most part, Lauren Conrad's internship was scripted and dramatized to make it seem like she was working full-time at LA Teen Vogue. Scripted or not, season 2 of The Hills delivered a reality MTV chic "Roman Empire" moment: the moment Lauren got scolded by her boss for choosing her boyfriend over a Paris internship.

The Los Angeles-born star was partnered with pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, who has been on the show since season 13. The rapper didn't get along with her assistant, Alvin who tried to attack him on the reunion stage. The rest of his time on the show led to more feuds and altercations. The audience saw a different side to Bobby when he starred on his dating show, Bobby I Love You, Purrr on Zeus in 2022. <![CDATA[ ‘RHOP’s’ Candiace Dillard Could Be the Cardi B of Her Franchise if She Exits Early Enough]]> Candiace Dillard has become an essential shade-throwing machine in The Real Housewives of Potomac cast. Her journey on the series has been an interesting one, and as her music career takes off, questions about why she remains on the show persist. On RHOP, She’s been, either directly or inadvertently, at the center of some of the biggest and most physical fights in RHOP history. The fight between Candiace and Monique Samuels, of course, will go down in infamy, as it led to two lawsuits and Monique’s ultimate departure from the series. Candiace’s most recent enemy has been Gizelle Bryant, who made claims that Candiace’s husband, Chris Bassett, cornered her in a room alone during the season 6 reunion special. Gizelle, who is not necessarily known for being honest, alleged that Chris cornered her, something that has, more or less, been proven to be false. Even in the most recent episode, Gizelle has stood by what she said, insisting that Chris forced her into a “bedroom.”

Britney and Kevin Federline’s "home" videos were the backbone for a 2005 reality mini-series titled Britney and Kevin: Chaotic. The show aired for five episodes on UPN and had a 2000s Vlogger-type vibe as it was mainly footage captured from Britney and Kevin's VHS camcorders featured in each episode. After meeting Kevin, she took him along for her tour as she desired company. The show served as a little diary for their short love story, leading to Britney and Kevin's marriage in September 2004. She had not watched the show prior and chose to keep it that way so she could form more authentic relationships with the other ladies. Lateasha said, “I went in blindsided and willy-nilly. I didn't do enough research. And I remember Toya was like, 'You need to do your research.' But-- I just felt like if I did, I probably was not going to do it. In addition to both being pros on the show, Daniella and Pasha are also married in real life. The two tied the knot in 2014. Earlier this year, the couple welcomed their first child; however, they did not let this hold them back from returning to the ballroom and dominating the competition. Pasha first joined Dancing With The Stars as a pro dancer in 2019 for season 28. The following year, Daniella joined her husband as a pro dancer on the show as well. In her first season, Daniella managed to make it to the finale with her celebrity partner, rapper and singer Nelly. The dancing duo ultimately came in third place. In her next season, Daniella once again made it to the finale, during which she and her partner Iman Shumpert won the Mirror Ball Trophy. Season 31 was the only season Daniella did not compete in the finale. Pasha, on the other hand, has yet to see a finale. <![CDATA[Nneka Ihim and Wendy Osefo Drama on 'RHOP" Doesn't Make Sense]]> Many viewers from last season of The Real Housewives of Potomac would have thought Candiace Dillard Bassett might be the woman with the most heat to bring the other ladies this season. In season seven, Gizelle Bryant accused Candiace's husband of being a "sneaky link" who made her feel uncomfortable by having a conversation with her alone in her dressing room at the season six reunion, and repeated allegations that he had an affair on her podcast. Their friendship has not survived the accusation. Viewers also anticipated a confrontation between Candiace and Ashley Darby, since Ashley's ex-husband is suing Candiace over her derogatory comments towards him on the show. Candiace's history of heated confrontations and holding a grudge had viewers looking forward to at least one re-match in season eight. But the aspiring pop diva has largely ignored the other women and their past drama, taking the high road while hitting the high notes, as her season eight tagline suggests. Instead, the drama is centered on newcomer Nneka Iham and her puzzling beef with Dr. Wendy Osefo.

<![CDATA[What ‘Dance Moms' Nia Sioux Is Doing Today]]> In 2012, a new reality series focused on a dance studio in Pittsburgh premiered on Lifetime. The series was called Dance Moms and centered on the owner of the studio, Abby Lee Miller, and the young girls who participated in the competition group. The Abby Lee Dance Company was comprised of girls between the ages of 6 to 13, and the series followed the group as they prepared for and competed in various dance competitions throughout the year. The original cast of dancers included Maddie Ziegler, Chloe Lukasiak, Mackenzie Ziegler, Nia Frazier, Paige Hyland, Brooke Hyland, and Vivi-Anne Stein, alongside their mothers. The series was fairly controversial from the beginning. Abby Lee Miller clearly played favorites, focusing on Maddie as the star of the group. This led to many run-ins between her and the mothers of the girls, as well as in-fighting between the moms themselves. In recent years, the dancers have spoken out via social media about the abuses they faced from Abby herself during the series. Abby Lee Miller became known for how she verbally abused the girls on the dance team, often pushing and insulting them to the point of tears. Given that all the dancers were in the midst of their formative years, one can only imagine how the trauma caused by their experience at the ALDC has affected them since then.

<![CDATA[90 Day Fiancé: Season 10 Couples Ranked Likely to Succeed]]> 90 Day Fiancé was originally meant to be a show that educates viewers on the K-1 visa process. The K-1 visa was created specifically for Americans who wish to marry and live with their international partner in the States. The visa process is strict, even more so now than when the series first premiered. International lovers who wish to take that walk down the aisle must follow these rules strictly or face seeing their betrothed deported. The required documentation must include proof that the couple has been together for two years, evidence of name changes or terminated marriages, and police clearance from their home country, to name but a few. There is also a high element of financial burden. The mandatory fees alone total over $2,000. Additionally, the American applying must have an income of at least $19,720 in a household of two, which is the federal poverty level. Those unable to provide funding to bring their partner over do have the option to bring a family member in as a co-sponsor. This was best seen in the case of Kalani and Asuelu from season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé. Kalani brought her fiancé/baby-daddy from Samoa to get married after she lost her virginity to him in Samoa and got pregnant. Her parents were the co-sponsors for Asuelu, and therefore had to financially support him when he arrived. Those who arrive in the U.S. are not allowed to work unless form I-765 is filed, which authorizes the visa holder to work for 90 days as well. This has never been seen or done in the series, likely because filing the form costs a minimum of $410. Not being able to work adds another layer of financial burden on the couples.

<![CDATA['Paris In Love' Season 2 Promises Newlywed Drama For Paris Hilton and Carter Reum]]> After the release of her documentary This is Paris in 2020, Paris Hilton has been focusing on a re-brand. She is shifting away from her party-girl persona from the early 2000s and towards an image of a business-savvy media mogul and mother. Her media company, Paris Hilton Entertainment, established in 2006, has even undergone a name change. The company name was switched to 11:11 Media in 2021 amid the socialite launching her new podcast, I am Paris. The new medium offers the mogul an opportunity to feature conversations with her friends, family, and other celebrities; occasionally, Paris even invites her husband, Carter Reum, to join her. It was also announced that Paris' recently published memoir will be turned into a television biopic series. The new couple's reality TV series Paris In Love is also part of the 11:11 Media umbrella and is central to the re-brand as well.

<![CDATA['Married at First Sight' Denver Is the Show's Most Irresponsible Season Yet]]> Every season, Married at First Sight experts, Pastor Cal, Dr. Pepper and newly appointed Dr. Pia Holec, arrive at a new major city prepared to interview singles vying to be a part of the riskiest social experiment on reality television. Getting married to a complete stranger on national television for a trial period of six weeks sounds even crazier when spoken aloud, yet thousands sign up and each season five couples are chosen for the entertaining journey. Over the past five seasons, audiences of the show have vocalized their disappointment in the expert's matches and, even more importantly, how they handle the train wrecks that inevitably take place every season. Audiences thought season 12 was the biggest embarrassment with groom Chris and bride Paige. From the moment Chris saw Paige, he was visibly disappointed with her looks, yet he was intimate with her during the honeymoon and throughout the beginning of the marriage. In order to get out of the marriage, he invited his ex-girlfriend on the show and revealed to Paige that they were expecting. It was the most disastrous marriage the show'saudiences has ever witnessed, but even worse than Chris's actions, watching Paige be humiliated and disrespected without much assistance from the experts was heartbreaking. If season 12 was horrifying, the current season 17 has reached a new level of toxic irresponsibility on the experts' part. Denver has the most red-flags out of any season thus far.

<![CDATA['RHOSLC' Housewives That Have Called Out The Mormon Church ]]> "The first question people ask you when they find out if you're from Utah is 'Are you Mormon' and 'Are you a polygamist,'" Heather Gay explained when asked about the Mormon Church in one of her confessionals. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City usually bond over relationship issues, motherhood, ski trips, and everything that Jen Shah left behind before going to prison. But religion is also a big thing and can be easily overlooked. Some of them have caught on to each other's devoted religious practices. Not to forget Mary Cosby's congregation and the rumors about it being a "cult". Or Angie Katsanevas' Greek religious birthday celebrations and Meredith Marks' Jewish bread-breaking. This season, Lisa Barlow's son, Jack, held a farewell party before going on his Mormon missionary trip to Colombia. But why is being Mormon such a recurring thing on RHOSLC?

<![CDATA[Tiffany and Louis Whitlow May Save Their Marriage by Leaving 'Love & Marriage: Huntsville']]> Love & Marriage: Huntsville has the reputation of destroying marriages. The Alabama-based reality series was initially launched under the premise of celebrating three power couples dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship and building a legacy. Unfortunately, the reality TV waters are often murky and within the first few episodes, it was clear the star couple, Melody and Martell Holt's marriage was in deep trouble. The couple's marital issues became the focal point of the show and their eventual divorce threatened to spill over and affect the other two main couples. Marital discourse continues to be a major issue on the OWN series six seasons later.

<![CDATA['The Kardashians' May Be Manufactured But It Still Reigns Over Reality TV]]> The switch from the cable format of Keeping Up With The Kardashians to the streaming giant The Kardashians has brought many changes to the series. At its height, Keeping Up was the must-see reality series. Part of that unmissable formula was the producers and editors working hard behind the scenes to put the sisters' stories together in a way that would be guaranteed to grab the audience's attention. Another crucial aspect was the fact that the cameras caught everything. Back on Keeping Up, the sisters were not producers, and had little to no say in what could or could not be filmed, what footage could not be shown. With the switch to The Kardashians on Hulu, we've seen a gradual and steady restriction from the sisters on what they are willing to show on screen. As we see less and less of the reality of the sisters' daily lives and more and more of their manufactured scenes meant for our consumption, the series has shifted further away from must-see reality TV and more toward an extension of their social media empire.

<![CDATA['Basketball Wives' Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams Are the Same Mean-Girl Duo from 2010]]> Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams are on-again-off-again besties on VH1's Basketball Wives. The duo have spent just as much time dissing each other as they have loving each other. One thing that connects the two beautiful ladies is their enjoyment of berating other women they deem beneath them. The debut season of Basketball Wives in 2010 positioned Evelyn as the leader of the pretty privileged girls pack that followed her lead bullying other women on the show. Jennifer Williams was Evelyn's loyal sidekick and had her back in throwing dirt on anyone who dared disagree with Evelyn. Jennifer's loyalty was rewarded by being Evelyn's No. 1 confidante until Evelyn turned on her. Despite such, they always reunite when there is drama involving another woman they can clique up against. Eleven seasons later, Evelyn and Jennifer are still playing the same game they started the series with and bullying three new ladies. Clayanna Warthen, Vanessa Rider, as well as social media sensation Brittany Renner are all new targets. Brittany saw the writing on the wall and quickly acquiesced to prevent being hazed by the OGs, but Clayanna and Vanessa stood up to the two aesthetically privileged bullies, resulting in one getting fired and the other running for cover. Evelyn and Jennifer prove their mean-girl antics won't let up any time soon, despite their age.

<![CDATA[The Ethical Implications of '90 Day Fiancé']]> 90 Day Fiancé' has garnered attention for its portrayal of couples from the US and predominantly impoverished countries, often characterized by significant age gaps and stark financial imbalances. In many instances, the dynamics suggest that these mismatched couples might not be together if not for the allure of US citizenship and the financial stability held by the American partner. As such, the show raises ethical concerns as it seems to endorse such partnerships, presenting them as genuine love relationships, while the underlying motivation appears rooted in a desire to escape financial hardships and pursue improved opportunities in the US. This raises questions about the show's responsibility in shaping public perceptions of relationships and the potential consequences of romanticizing unions driven more by pragmatic considerations than genuine emotional connections.

<![CDATA[Melody Holt's Name-Changing Ceremony Segways New Tradition to Replace Divorce Parties]]> Little girls everywhere, regardless of culture or creed, look forward to the tradition of dressing up in a beautiful white gown and marrying the man of their dreams in front of family and friends. The wedding ceremony is an opportunity for every woman to be treated like a princess for a day, with every single detail dedicated to celebrating her and her new life. According to the American Psychological Association, 40-50% of first marriages end in divorce. And second marriages have an even higher death rate with approximately 60-67% of them ending in divorce. The trumped-up wedding ceremony often takes more thought and precision than some marriages in their entirety and money spent on the wedding and reception are collateral damage in the divorce proceeding. Love & Marriage: Huntsville dedicated two episodes to a non-traditional name change ceremony for Melody Holt, née Melody Rogers.

As Season 8 unfolds, Ashley's divorce is still not final, but the divorce waters are calm and Michael is a non-factor. Ashley admits Michael's coins are still the engine behind her new-soho-chic mini-mansion, but his absence in her life and the show leaves her without much to discuss with the ladies. <![CDATA[The Rise of ‘Dragula’ and What It Means for Horror]]> Horror and the LGBTQ+ community have had a very long - and tenuous - relationship. It's common for LGBTQ+ people to find refuge in all things scary, celebrating the LGBTQ+ undertones of so many horror projects while lamenting the harmful representations of their identities that the genre has a long history of producing. This fusion of identity and fandom is showcased horrifically well in the reality show The Boulet Brothers' Dragula (commonly referred to as Dragula), a series created by famous drag performers Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet that has risen to become a mainstay in horror as a whole. One of Shudder's (the leading streaming platform for horror content) most popular series, Dragula has found a solid audience with viewers of all backgrounds as it offers an affirming platform for marginalized performers while simultaneously presenting horrifying, filthy, and glamorous examples of drag. In the years since its creation, there has been a marked increase in complex and prominent LGBTQ+ characters in horror as well as the number of people behind the camera who also identify. While not due solely to Dragula, this show's ability to start conversations that other LGBTQ+ or horror projects have never discussed pushes boundaries in the best way possible: it vocalizes the need for this kind of space in a way that does not cater to any straight, cisgender, or otherwise non-LGBTQ+ desires, all while chilling those who watched with its horrifying performances.

<![CDATA[Fans are Convinced NeNe Leakes is Returning to ‘RHOA’ ]]> When The Real Housewives of Atlanta premiered in 2008, NeNe Leakes was the breakout star. Fans loved her real, yet over-the-top, reactions to the goings-on in the newly formed group. As one of the OG peach holders, NeNe has become a staple in pop culture. Her time on RHOA led to more opportunities as well. Fans got to see NeNe on Glee as the recurring character Roz Washington, as well as the short-lived sitcom The New Normal. With NeNe’s star on the rise, it seemed as if the mutually beneficial relationship with Bravo would last forever. Unfortunately, it did not, and the relationship between NeNe and the entire network dwindled as fast as it grew.

New ladies come and go to add to the drama of interpersonal relationships. With all the changes in the various franchises, there have certainly been hits and misses. When television icon Kim Fields joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta, many scratched their heads at the odd choice. And it was clear that Kim was a fish out of water in comparison to the other housewives, as she did not return after completing her first and only season. Bravo’s attempt to diversify the original RHONY cast also blew up in their faces, as accusations of racism from the other housewives became a problem.

<![CDATA[Bryton Has No Regrets About His 'Squid Game: The Challenge' Strategy]]> Squid Game: The Challenge has recently premiered, and the series has drawn in Squid Game and non-Squid Game viewers alike. With 456 people competing in the competition, it’s surprising to see a player become a target within the first few games. That is precisely what happened to Bryton, whose bold personality rubbed many of the other players the wrong way. He was the first player to essentially be labeled public enemy number one to his other players, a title that Bryton takes little stock in. Bryton said, “The word[s] ‘villain’ and ‘enemy,’ blah, blah, blah… I've always said I don't think it's the right word to use for me, I like helping other people.”

<![CDATA['Squid Game: The Challenge' - Dani & Spencer On Bittersweet Side of Series]]> The first two games that the contestants face in Squid Game: The Challenge are probably the most well-known games that came from the original series—the first, of course, being Red Light, Green Light. The second challenge was the Dalgona Game. The star of this challenge is the dalgona itself, a circular cookie-sized candy that is made of sugar and baking soda. The candy is as delicate as it is crunchy, resembling caramel. In Squid Game, the cookies are imprinted with four shapes: a circle, a triangle, a star, and an umbrella. The goal of the game is to remove the imprinted shape from the dalgona candy without cracking or breaking the surrounding candy using only a small needle. If the candy cracks, the player is eliminated. If the shape is not removed from the candy in the allotted time frame, the player is eliminated.

<![CDATA[Why 'Winter House' and 'Ultimate Girls' Trip' Works]]> Winter House got its start on Bravo as a seasonal counterpart to its sister show, Summer House. The main cast is often shared between the series, with married couple Kyle Cook and Amanda Batula anchoring the vacation-shared house and its rotating group of friends. Summer House itself started as a spin-off that was first featured in a fifth-season episode of network favorite Vanderpump Rules. This crossover episode features Vanderpump alum Stassi Schroeder as she introduces her Los Angeles friends to the summer share house hosted in Mantauk by her friends, the twins Ashley Wirkus and Lauren Wirkus. Bravo has been shrewdly utilizing the popularity of one franchise to drive interest toward another in this way ever since. It seems to be a formula that works.

<![CDATA[TV Talk Show Popularity Is Dying]]> Talk shows have been around since the early aughts of television. They peaked in the 90s, a time in which there was literally a talk show for everyone. Oprah Winfrey, Maury Povich, and Jerry Springer were household names, with episodes airing daily that people did not want to miss. Over time, however, the popularity of these series has declined. Most millennials have core memories of staying home from school sick and having to watch daytime talk shows because of it. Talk shows have been a part of American culture since the early days of radio and television. Like most shows and series, talk shows began as radio shows. Before the invention of the television, radio was king. It was the prime source of news and entertainment, leading to the occasional bout of mass panic, such as Orson WellesWar of the Worlds radio play. The invention of the television changed the way people consume media. There was only one channel on the TVs of yesteryear, and it was the one channel that those fortunate enough to own were able to watch.

Listening to viewer feedback and leading with diversity and inclusion is not new to the franchise, but taking a chance at casting 72-year-old Gerry Turner was a calculated risk for the network that paid off in great ratings and breathed new life into the franchise. If social media engagement is an indicator, this season will undoubtedly be listed as a favorite in 'Bachelor Nation' history. <![CDATA['Braxton Family Values' Doesn't Need a Reboot]]> Braxton Family Values premiered on WeTV in 2011 and focused on Braxton siblings Toni, Traci, Towanda, Tamar, and Trina, and their mother, Evelyn Braxton. The show became a quick hit among WeTV viewers, and soon, Toni was not the only star in the spotlight. The second youngest of the siblings, Tamar, quickly became a fan favorite thanks to her large personality and hilarious catchphrases. The series led to spin-offs for Tamar, including her show with her then-husband, Vincent Herbert, which was aptly titled Tamar & Vince. Braxton Family Values was a launch pad for Tamar’s solo music career, and she released two albums during the series' run. Siblings Traci and Trina also worked on solo projects during the show.

<![CDATA['RHOP' Is Demonizing the Culture and Spirituality of Nigeria]]> Dr. Wendy Osefo has worn her Nigerian ancestry loud and proud, giving Real Housewives Of Potomac fans who are unaware of the cultural intricacies a little insight. This season has put this in the forefront thanks to the addition of a new housewife, Nneka Ihim, who is also of Nigerian descent. In Season 8, Episode 2, he topic of Wendy being Osu or, rather, Ashley Darby’s lie about Wendy being Osu was a major topic of discussion. Some Nigerian fans were upset by Wendy’s explanation of Osu, as they felt she misrepresented its meaning. Nigerian fans are also upset with Nneka and Robyn Dixon for demonizing Wendy’s mother and her spiritual practice. Because of colonization, spiritualities outside of Christianity have been demonized, especially those from the African diaspora, which has yet to be represented in a positive way in pop culture. RHOP has the opportunity to bring new light to that narrative, but they aren’t, which is angering many of the series' Nigerian viewers.

Reality TV wasn’t the wild west adventure it is today, it was uncharted territory that creators were beginning to explore. It was at this time that Sean Combs, known as Puff Daddy at the time, created and premiered his show Making the Band on MTV. Creator Shaunie O'Neal was one of the most celebrated athlete wives, married to franchise player Shaquille O'Neal. Shaunie and Shaq ruled as the proverbial homecoming king and queen of the NBA, with Shaunie's diminutive stature being an adorable contrast to Shaquille's giant presence.
