About Daniel Deschenes

Daniel is a full-time social worker. He helps men with substance abuse disorders and their families recover and lead successful lives. When he isn't out running and listening to metal music, he enjoys video games with friends, Marvel Comics, horror movies, and Stephen King paperbacks. From a young age, Daniel knew he would love movies. Daniel has been an avid film fan, starting with Jaws and Jurassic Park. In addition, writing has also been an essential part of Daniel's life. He is a published author of both entertainment articles and poetry. In recovery from substance abuse, Daniel has used film, themes, and writing to help process the complex emotions that come with sobriety. He leads several groups at his workplace about how writing and analyzing movies can help those struggling with addiction process and resolve complex emotions and feelings. You can find him at a concert or writing on the back porch after work.
