About Kelcie Mattson
Kelcie Mattson is just a small town girl and a senior features writer for Collider. A lifelong lover of storytelling, she has over a decade of professional experience writing about entertainment through an analytical lens. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Digital Filmmaking from Stephens College in 2013.
In addition to writing about Marvel, Disney, Star Trek, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Studio Ghibli, Guillermo Del Toro, film noir, horror, and K-Dramas for Collider, she's had the pleasure of contributing to the independent film journal Bright Wall/Dark Room and interviewing filmmakers for IndieWire’s Women and Hollywood division. Rarely seen without a book in her hand, she participated in the pre-publication promotional teams for New York Times bestselling author Allison Saft’s novels A Far Wilder Magic and A Fragile Enchantment.
Having grown up with an imagination fueled by fantasy, science fiction, Universal Monsters, Turner Classic Movies marathons, and her local library, becoming a pop culture nerd was inevitable. Her love for fandom culture and its unique joys emerged after spending time on fanfiction.net and livejournal.com. As such, she’s fascinated by the convergence of fandom studies and media history.
Otherwise, her favorite pastimes include working at an independent bookstore, petting her cat, replaying Assassin's Creed, thinking about Tom Hiddleston's Loki, and earning a hypothetical Master's Degree in all things Taylor Swift.
